The Peace of God

Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus"
The unlimited, indefinable peace of God does not come to us via our own effort. We cannot relax or meditate ourselves into the depths of His peace. We cannot mandate it by managing our circumstances. We cannot will it by virtue of sheer desire. We cannot think our way into it with our intellect. We cannot orchestrate it with our vast skills. We cannot obtain it with our finances. We cannot force it by wielding our power. We cannot steal it from anyone's possession.
His peace is most evident when everything is falling around you, and yet you have a sure and steady stilless at your core..a quiet confidence that God is in control..and that He sees what is happening. In the midst of the chaos, you have a sweet sense of comfort that is more evident than in so-called "ordinary" times. When everything is moving, it becomes easy to focus on the the One thing that remains unshakable.
When we finally recognize peace as the sweet presence of Jesus, we will never want anything else.
