Jeremiah 2: 2 "I remember you"
Our precious Savior, Jesus Christ, delights in thinking about His bride and to look upon her beauty. Just as a bird would often return to his nest, or a traveler far away from home, longs to see home again, it would seem that the heart continually pursues the object of it's affection. Think of the person that you long to see, the child, the spouse, the mother or father..you can never look too often upon the face of someone that you love. We desire always to have what is precious to us in our sight.
I believe it is so even with our Lord Jesus. From all eternity, "His delights were with the sons of men" and His thoughts rolled onward to the time when each of us were born. He has viewed each of us in the mirror of His foreknowledge. "In your book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned when as yet there was none of them." When the world was set upon it's pillars, He was there, and He knew you before you were even formed in your mother's womb..Jeremiah 1:5.
I believe that as the breastplate containing the names of the tribes of Israel was a brilliant ornament, worn by the high priest, so the names of God's children, the bride of Christ, are probably His most precious jewel, that glitters on His heart. Jesus never ceases to remember us. As we go through our day, may we remember Him. May He indelibly paint on the eyes of our souls, the image of His Son.
