Leviticus 2:4 "And if you bring as an offering a grain offering baked in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil."
Private pain, deep hurt and even shameful addictions. You may think that nobody understands what you are going through..but God does. He can identify with all your pain and He is able to help you. (Heb. 2:18 & 4:15)
In the Old Testament, the grain offering brought to God actually spoke of Christ, and of His life on earth. The fine flour, which the grain offering is made with, is flour that has been pounded, ground, beaten, and sifted through..to get it consistently even and fine. It typifies the humanity and sufferings of our Lord and Savior.
One of the ways that the Jewish women prepared the grain offering was to bake it. The baking done in the depths of the oven speak of the "hidden" sufferings that Christ went through. I believe that Jesus faced suffering that we cannot fully even know or understand. During His ministry years, Jesus often suffered at the hands of men. He was slandered by those who misunderstood Him. He was criticized, falsely accused, deserted. People didn't believe Him. People thought He was crazy. He faced temptations. He was tempted for 40 days! Not all of those temptations were recorded so it is easy for us to gloss over them.
Dear child of God, Jesus went through all of these temptations and sufferings for us..and yet He did not sin. Whatever it is that you are going through today, Jesus can identify with you. So come today, to His throne of grace, and feel free to pour out your heart. Then receive from Him the strength, the wisdom and the grace to face and overcome those trials that are in your life.
