Verse 15 goes on to speak of the vineyards that God will give..The desert is a strange place to find vineyards..Can it be true that the true riches of life that we need can be found in the desert..a place that symbolizes loneliness, and through which we can seldom find our way? Not only is this true, but verse 15 goes on to say "I will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There will she sing as in the days of her youth." "Achor" means "troubled", yet the Valley of Achor is called a "door of hope".
Yes, God knows our need for a desert or wilderness experience. Because I feel I have experienced this in my own life, I can say with confidence that sometimes the Lord brings us to a place in our walk with Him, where there are no distractions, so that He can clearly speak to our hearts. I thank Him for those times. Jesus often went away by Himself to spend time seeking His Father.
As a child of God, there is never a time when we lose our hope. We may get discouraged from time to time, but we never lose our hope. There are so many things that can never be taken from a child of God..because our hope is not in this world or the things of this world. Our hope is in Him..No matter what trouble you may be facing today, no matter what valley you may be in..no person or devil in hell can take away certain things from a child of the King. The devil cannot take away the work that was done at the cross. He cannot change that or alter it. He cannot take away your salvation. He cannot change God's plan. He cannot change the fact that one day, you will spend eternity with Jesus, and with other children of God..friends and family who have gone before you. He cannot change the fact that God loves you. There are a couple of things he can do..he can deceive us into doubting the things that we know to be true. He can plant discouragement in our minds..but he cannot change God's plan..and God's plan for you beloved is GOOD. We need to remind ourselves daily to CHOOSE to believe God!
My hope for every one of you today is that no matter what you may be dealing with in your life, that today you might spend some time alone with the Lord, and just listen for His voice as you seek Him. He will speak beloved. I'm praying for all of you.
