Matthew 9:22 "But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour."
Some of the most anointed and life changing messages I've ever heard in my life have come when Ray and I have been inside the jail on Sunday mornings. Yesterday was one of those days. We have been so blessed and privileged to serve along with our friend Jeff. If I could sum Jeff up in a couple of sentences, it would be these..Jeff understands and knows the love of Christ in his life. Because of that knowing, Jeff also has a deep love for Christ. To spend time with Jeff is always an uplifting experience.
Yesterday, he asked the inmates if they were sick and tired of being sick and tired..My question to you today is the same. I believe that the woman with the issue of blood was probably in such a state. She had been dealing with this in her life for 12 long years. Ray and I have gone through difficult situations in our lives that have seemed as though there was no end in sight. That must have been how this woman felt...as if there were no end in sight. For 12 years, she had been considered "unclean". She had been one of the "untouchables" and had not been able to live a normal life. I'm sure that she was sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Have you ever felt that way? Have you ever been in a situation for such a long time that you begin to lose hope? Beloved..DO NOT GIVE UP!!!!!!! Even though this precious child of God had suffered for years..even though no one else had been able to help her..even though she had gone through all her money and everything she had...when she heard that Jesus was coming through town, she KNEW that she would be made whole. She KNEW that if she could even just touch the hem of his garment, a healing would take place. There was a multitude of people pressing around Jesus at the time of this incident. Many people were touching Him..but when this woman touched Him, He knew immediately that virtue (power) had gone out of Him. With so many people surrounding Him, why did He take notice of this one woman? It was because she touched Him in faith. She believed God. Something in her knew that what she needed in her life was a touch from the divine Healer. Jesus spoke with the woman after she touched Him.. after she was healed. He told her that it was her faith that had made her whole. He told her that she should go, in peace.
This precious woman simply believed God. She knew that to touch Him meant healing. Out of that entire crowd it was HER faith that touched Him. It was her faith that brought healing power. Beloved, your faith will do the same thing. My prayer for each of us today is simply that He would help our unbelief..that He would help us to exercise our faith..to be able to stand firm on what we believe..that doubt would be removed..and that our focus would be entirely on Him, and not on what might be going on around us. Hebrews 11:6 says that "without faith, it is impossible to please God". My prayer is that the layers of unbelief would begin to fall away..and that we might begin to reach out in faith, to a waiting and willing God. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. My prayer is that each of you today, would go about your day, in peace..simply believing. May His Name Be Praised!
