the Lord shall be a light unto me

Micah 7:8 "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me."

Oh beloved, I feel as though I am talking specifically to someone this morning. The prophet Micah could not find an honest person in the land. Things have not changed much today. Have you ever felt as he did? Have you ever felt like there was no one that you could really go to about something? I have been there..The Bible says in the verses right before this one to trust not even in a friend, not to put confidence in a guide..and that sometimes a man's enemies are even the men of his own house. To me, that means it can be the people we thought we were the closest to..the people we thought we trusted to go with us through anything we were going through..I at times in my own life have felt abandoned by those who were closest to me...but I want to share something with you this morning that I feel God has taught me. God will never create a world for any of us that makes HIM unnecessary. If you are in a difficult place, and feeling alone or abandoned, you can trust the One who is GREATER IN YOU..than he who is in the world. You have got Holy Spirit DNA inside of you..and you can trust HIM in your life.

Micah went on to say, "therefore, I will look unto the Lord. I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God WILL hear me." There is so much said in just that short phrase. Micah said he would look unto the Lord. He would go to God with his concerns. He would wait for God to answer because he knew that His Lord would hear him.. He knew that the God of his SALVATION would hear him and that even when he did fall, he would again arise. He knew that even if he was in a time of darkness, God would be that light for him.

Beloved, God has not changed. If you are in a difficult situation today, He WANTS to hear you. He WANTS you to bring your concerns to Him. He ADORES you.. He LOVES you..He WANTS to offer you hope.

This morning as I was reading in Psalm ll8, verse 8 said, "It is better to put trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man." It was interesting to me that it didn't even say that we could put TRUST in man..it said that our TRUST belongs with God..we tend to confide in people..but our TRUST belongs to God. That same chapter says that the Lord IS on our side..and beloved, if God is on YOUR side..what can man do to you? The psalmist said that he called upon the Lord in his distress and the Lord answered him.

Please don't get the wrong idea this morning. I am definitely NOT against having close friendships. We need fellowship with other believers. We even need to be able to share our hearts sometimes and to comfort each other..to offer a word of hope. This is a good thing..I am just trying to remind every one of us this morning that our TRUST belongs to Him. HE is where our hope lies. HE is where our strength comes from. Today, if you can, spend some time alone with Him..pour your heart out to the God of YOUR salvation, and in the quiet that follows, let Him speak to you. Let Him comfort, direct and renew you. You can TRUST the God of your salvation in EVERY situation.
