Psalm 7l:18 "Now when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have showed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every o

Ray and I visited a few churches after we left Lodi before we found our wonderful church. The one thing we noticed is that most churches really reach out to young people, which I love. I want to see the younger generation spending their lives loving Jesus. I want to see them reaching people for Christ. I want to watch them grow spiritually and I especially want to spend time with them because it keeps ME young!!
My thoughts today are probably for the most part aimed at those of us who find ourselves growing older..facing the aches and pains that our bodies are beginning to demonstrate..waking up every morning to find new wrinkles on our faces when we look in the mirror..and so many gray hairs that they are too numerous to count...I am reminded that God..in His infinite love..cares so much for each of us that He has the hairs on our heads numbered. He knows each of us so well.
David faced aging just as we all do..and his cry to God was simply..Lord, even when I'm old, do not leave my side. Help me even in my old age, to show YOUR strength to this generation. Help me to be a demonstration of YOUR power to everyone that is around me. Friends, that is my heart's cry today. There is a woman in our church who I love. I believe she is over 80 years old, but every time I see her, she encourages me. She always has a kind word to say, and many times, God has used her words, to put strength into my spirit for that day. I want to be that kind of believer. I don't believe that God ever intended for us to just lay down and quit as we got older. Maybe physically we cannot do all the things we used to..but our spirits are actually STRONGER than they used to be..and we can always be a blessing to someone. We are never too old to love God. We are never too old to pray. We are never too old to offer a kind word to someone. We are never too old to have the desires of our own hearts fulfilled. God doesn't forsake you beloved..just because you are getting older.
Isaiah 46:4 "And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you."
