I absolutely love this verse. I love the fact that with God, there is justice. I heard a preacher just this week say that there are a lot of people who go with us through life..but just because they are WITH us..does not mean that they are FOR us. Unfortunately, there are people who would like to see us hurt. There are people who do enjoy a little gossip, or talking about someone under the guise that they are sharing this so the other person can pray about it. Unfortunately, there seems to be some jealousy among friendships, and even some issues with manipulation.
The bottom line I think, is that God sees the heart. He knows our motives. He also knows the motives of the people around us. If someone in your life has been "seeking your hurt", you can believe and trust in the fact that God has your back. This verse is a promise. David was saying here that at some point, those who try to hurt us will become confounded (confused) themselves.
I've had someone in my life for a very long time that I know doesn't have good motives. I have not felt like I was in a position to confront this person for several reasons..one of which is simply that the person would never believe me anyway...but I have drawn such comfort from this verse..because the Word of God is alive. It is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword. It is a discerner of the thoughts and INTENTS of the heart.
God SEES the heart. He sees into every situation. He sees the motives behind every decision, every word that is said, every action that is taken. Beloved, if you are in a situation where someone is seeking to hurt you...Trust God. Go to Him and pour your heart out. This verse promises that He will take care of you, and He will take care of the situation...then...and even now..before you see your answer coming..may you talk of HIS righteousness ALL THE DAY LONG! May we praise Him in EVERY situation. May we speak of His goodness at all times. Blessed be the Lord God, who doeth wondrous things. Blessed be His glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with HIS glory!
