The words "thus far" are like a hand pointing in the direction of the past. Whether through poverty, wealth, sickness or health..whether in honor, dishonor, difficulties, joy, pain, triumph or temptation.."thus far..the Lord has helped." It is probably easier to look back at our lives and see the hand of God moving in every situation. We can see when He carried us, or when He moved the heart of someone..when He made provision, when He protected..when He calmed the raging seas around us....
But the words..thus far..also point forward. Someone who comes to a certain point in the road, and writes the words "thus far" , realizes he has not yet come to the end of the road and that he still has some distance to travel. There are still more trials, joys, temptations, difficulties, battles, victories, prayers, answers, and strength yet to come!
No matter where you are on the road "thus far"..your God is with you. Just as you can look back, and see the handiwork of God in your life, you can look forward with quiet confidence, knowing that He will be with you ALL the way up the road. He can see the entire road and knows every turn the road will take. He knows the wide spots and the narrow. He knows when the road gets rough and when it is smoothe..and just as He was your guide..the One who directed your steps to the point where you are "thus far"..He will be the One to take you every step of the rest of your journey.
