Galatians 6:9 "And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

It is discouraging at times to continue to do right, and receive no word of thanks or see no tangible results. But Paul challenges the Galatians, (and us) to keep going, and to trust God with the results.
Many christians seem to feel that holy living comes from one major victory after another...and yes..we do have times when we have great breakthroughs; however, most of our victories come slowly. They come little by little. Sometimes we feel as though we are inching forward..sometimes we don't feel as if we are going forward at all. Because we often move slowly in our spiritual growth, we are many times unaware of how far we have moved.
For all of us who face those dark moments, feeling as though we have failed, feeling like we have tried, but we have let God down, feeling like we should be further along than we are spiritually..my advice is to listen and take to heart the words of Paul in the above verse. He exhorted us not to grow weary. Another translation says, "do not lose heart" In other words, don't quit. Keep fighting!
Life is a struggle, and we have an enemy who is determined to defeat us. We often feel like life is just one battle after another..but it's not just our fight. Jesus is not only WITH us..He is FOR us. When you are tempted to remember your failures, try remembering some of the times that you have succeeded. Think about the times that you have stood your ground and made progress. Jesus was with you during those times, and He is with you now.
Isaiah wrote, "Fear not, for I have redeemed you...I have called you by your name. you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned." This is God's promise. He doesn't promise to completely take us out of troubles or hardships, but He does promise to be with us as we go through them. He also promises that in due season, we WILL reap a harvest, if we faint not. In other words, don't give up. Your God is with you. He will be with you through the difficult seasons. Today, remind yourself that God does not see you as a failure. He will see you through whatever trial you are in..Beloved, don't give up!
