Psalm 126:3 "The Lord hath done great things for us, whereof we are glad."

Sometimes we are prone to look on the dark side of everything, and to dwell more upon what we have gone through than upon what God has done for us. If we were to ask some folks about their impression of the Christian life, they might describe continual conflicts, deep afflictions, sad adversities and even the sinfulness of their hearts, yet with scarcely any allusion to the mercy and help that God has granted them. But a Christian whose eyes and heart are set on Him..will joyously speak not about themselves, but to the honor of God. They might speak of the fact that God has brought them up out of a horrible pit, and out of the miry clay, and has set their feet upon a rock, and established their goings. They might tell you that He has put a new song in their mouth, and praise unto Him.
It is true that we endure trials, but it is just as true that He has delivered us out of so many. It is true that we have our corruptions, but it is also true that we have an all-sufficient Savior who overcomes these corruptions and delivers us from their domininion.
The deeper our troubles, the louder our thanks to God, who has led us through and preserved us. Our griefs can't mar the melody of our praise. Thanks be to Him!
